Caprylic/capric triglyceride is a lightweight oil made from coconut or palm. It's a mix of two fatty acids that your skin recognizes easily, so it absorbs without sitting heavy on top.
You'll find it in serums, moisturizers, and makeup because it conditions skin and helps other ingredients spread smoothly. It also masks any off-putting smell from other actives in the formula, which is why it shows up in a lot of products.
It's generally well-tolerated, though like any oil it can contribute to breakouts if your skin is very prone to them. For most people it's just a helper ingredient that makes products feel better to use and work better on skin.
